Welcome back to the Beta Theta Chapter of Phi Kappa Tau. Our alumni are the foundation of our continued success at the University of Kansas. This space is dedicated to keeping our brothers connected, informed, and involved with the chapter long after graduation. Whether it has been five months or fifty years since you left Mount Oread, you always have a home at Beta Theta.

Our story
Installed at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas in 1948, the Beta Theta chapter of Phi Kappa Tau is part of a national fraternity. Rechartered again in 1988.Â

In the Fall of 2018 our National organization reestablished the Beta Theta chapter at KU. Since then the members have embraced the challenge of growing the brotherhood from scratch to the chapter it is today. This could not have been possible without the support of the National organization and several key Graduate Council (GC) alumni who volunteer their time. In 2025 the colony was rechartered at the Kansas Union.

Hundreds of alumni make up the Graduate Council at the University of Kansas.  The purpose of the GC is to promote the mission of Phi Kappa Tau among graduated members and support the Resident Council in Lawrence. A proud tradition dating back to the chapters installation at KU in 1954.
The Story of Beta Theta isn't complete and there are more chapters to write. This is exciting.
